- MODIFY TRADING INDICATORS HELP SCREEN (2)
-
- If a sell signal is indicated, again the program will examine the
- close in the history that is at the Chord length. Should that close
- be less then the current close the sell signal will be inhibited.
-
- The best approach in selecting the final Long and Short term settings
- and the Chord length is to let the data accumulate for thirty or more
- days. Then establish the averages by the performance of the stock.
- These figures can be adjusted until the stock exhibits the correct buy
- and sell that suits your needs. At that point the stock will general-
- ly maintain the desired buy and sell points that you require without
- giving false indications. Although the 30, 10, 5 figure will give a
- good starting point (long, short, and chord) each person has built-in
- biases and trading varies dependent upon those biases and the total
- volume of stock owned. For example: An individual that owns several
- thousand shares of stock can make money on a much smaller point rise
- than a person who only has fifty shares.
-
- In addition to those variances blue chip stock behave much differently
- than speculative stocks. For example: 200 shares of Risky Oil would
- be handled much differently than 200 shares of AT&T.
